Astoria is where I've being residing for the past 11 years, which means 1/3 of my whole life. I originally came to the US in 1996 from the city called Kawasaki, in Japan. Kawasaki is the next town to the west of Tokyo. I find Astoria very similar to where I grew up, on many levels. As soon as the N or W train emerges at Queensboro Plaza, there's a light. Relatively relaxing, industrial, and flat landscapes are lit by a warm and open light source. The train runs above the ground, so you can see far, and all those cinemas, that are happening on every corner block. I'd like to explore this town, where I live, at eye level.
